Welcome to The Subtle Point Acupuncture Clinic in Denver
Welcome to The Subtle Point, your premier destination for acupuncture in Denver, Colorado. Our mission is to provide personalized, high-quality care to help you achieve optimal health and well-being. Our experienced and licensed practitioners are dedicated to offering a holistic approach to your health using the ancient art of acupuncture and other traditional Chinese medicine techniques.
How we Acheive our Results
Acupuncture
Acupuncture works by stimulating sensory nerves under the skin and in the muscles, with fine, solid needles. The result of this stimulation has been shown to: cause the body to release pain relieving endorphins, increase circulation, reduce inflammation, etc. Often times significant pain relief and stress reduction can be found after the first treatment. Acupuncture is great for both acute and chronic conditions.
Photobiomodulation
Also known as Low Level Light/Laser Therapy (LLLT), photobiomodulation has been shown to have effective results for numerous conditions as shown in thousands of studies. We utilize LLLT for its effectiveness and its relationship to the more traditional Chinese medicine counterpart, moxibustion. Both moxibustion and LLLT have been shown to reduce pain, improve circulation, resolve digestive conditions, and more.
Diet & Lifestyle Advice
At The Subtle Point clinic we try and advise all of our patients to modify their lifestyle or diet if needed to help alleviate the symptoms of certain conditions. The advice that we give is simple, and there will never be any complicated diet plans involved. The lifestyle advice that we give is also simple and can include: incorporating short meditation sessions to your routine, working out, spending more time outdoors, etc.
Herbs & Supplements
For thousands of years Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practitioners have relied on herbal medicine to treat illness, alleviate pain, and to prolong health. It has been said that the greatest treasure that TCM has to offer is in the herbal formulas. These formulas were created in such a way that you will receive an effective dose of the main herb while the “helper” herbs in the formula mitigate any potential side effects.

Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is an ancient Chinese medicine practice that has been used for thousands of years to promote healing, alleviate pain, and maintain overall wellness. The treatment involves the insertion of very thin, sterile needles into specific points on the body, known as acupuncture points. These points are situated along the body’s energy pathways, called meridians, which are responsible for the flow of vital energy or Qi. By stimulating these points, acupuncture aims to restore balance and harmony within the body, enabling it to heal naturally and efficiently.
How Does Acupuncture Work?
The fundamental principle behind acupuncture is that the human body is a complex system of interconnected energies. When the flow of Qi is disrupted, imbalances and health issues can occur. By inserting needles into the acupuncture points, practitioners can regulate the flow of Qi and blood circulation, ultimately promoting the body’s self-healing process. Acupuncture is believed to stimulate the release of endorphins, the body’s natural painkillers, and affect the nervous system, reducing inflammation and promoting relaxation. As a result, acupuncture can be an effective treatment for a wide range of conditions, including chronic pain, stress, digestive issues, and women’s health concerns.
Does Acupuncture Hurt?
Most patients experience minimal discomfort during acupuncture treatments. The needles are extremely thin, and you may feel a slight pinch or pressure upon insertion.
How Many Acupuncture Treatments Will I Need?
The number of treatments varies depending on your specific condition and individual needs.
Can I Receive Acupuncture if I'm Pregnant?
Yes, acupuncture can be beneficial during pregnancy. However, it’s important to inform your practitioner about your pregnancy so they can avoid specific points and techniques.
Do I need a referral from my doctor to receive acupuncture in Denver?
No, you don’t need a referral to schedule an acupuncture appointment at The Subtle Point. However, it’s important to inform your primary care physician about your treatments here.
What is the Aftercare for an Acupuncture Session?
After an acupuncture session, it’s advised to stay hydrated, avoid strenuous activities, and listen to your body’s needs as it continues the healing process.
Are There Any Side Effects to Acupuncture?
Acupuncture is generally safe with minimal side effects. Some patients may experience temporary bruising, soreness, or mild dizziness after treatment
